FAIRBORN, OH – The USGA, Masters Tournament and PGA of America announced today that registration for the 2023 -2024 Drive, Chip and Putt qualifying season is now open on DriveChipandPutt.com.
Created by the three organizations in 2013, Drive, Chip and Putt is part of the free, nationwide initiative to introduce golf to boys and girls ages 7-15 in a fun and welcoming environment by helping them master the three basic skills of the game.
Local qualifying for the 2024 Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals begins in May at more than 350 sites nationally. The Southern Ohio PGA Section is thrilled to host six local qualifiers in June and July throughout Central and Southern Ohio:
- Friday, June 9 at Miami Shores Golf Course in Troy
- Friday, June 16 at Reeves Golf Course in Cincinnati
- Friday, June 23 at Blacklick Woods Golf Course in Reynoldsburg
- Wednesday, June 28 at Oasis Golf Club in Loveland
- Friday, July 7 at The Golf Club of dublin in Dublin
- Friday, July 14 a Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro
The path to the National Finals continues for the top three local qualifier performers in each of the eight divisions who will advance to the Southern Ohio Sub-Regional Qualifier set to be held Saturday, August 12 at Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club in Powell.
Top performers from Sub-Regional Qualifiers in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan will advance to the Regional Qualifier on Saturday, September 9 at historic Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio. Opening in 1916, the first 18-hole golf course in Central Ohio includes a practice facility featuring generous tee grounds and multiple short-game areas where some of golf’s top players have learned the game, including Columbus-native Jack Nicklaus. Head Professional Joe Falardeau, PGA and his team continue to honor the club’s rich tournament tradition as it is one of four courses to have hosted the U.S. Open (1926), Ryder Cup (1931) PGA Championship (1950) and U.S. Amateur Championship (1968) as well as two U.S. Senior Opens (1986, 2016).
One junior golfer in each age/gender category at the Scioto Country Club Regional Qualifier will advance to the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club on April 7, 2024.
