DAYTON, OH (July 12, 2022) – TJ Kreusch and Medha Pothuru earn their first wins of the 2022 SOPGA Junior Golf season at Player’s Tour Gem City Junior Open.
The SOPGA Player’s Tour continues making its way around Dayton with a stop at Miami Valley Golf Club this week.
TJ Kreusch of Kettering, Ohio took advantage of the short commute to this week’s competition and showed up at the first round ready to compete. Two birdies and three bogeys in the first round put him at the top of the leaderboard overnight by one stroke at one-over-par, 72. Though the second round held a few obstacles, Kreusch fought hard to card a second round score of 10-over-par, 81, and claim his first win of the season by one stroke.

Medha Pothuru of Dublin, Ohio opened the competition with a bogey but she definitely didn’t let that hole hold her back. Carding a first round score of eight-over-par, 79, she sat three strokes off the leader overnight and came out fighting for first place with a second round score of four-over-par, 75. Pothuru claimed her first win on the SOPGA Junior Tour this season by finishing four strokes ahead of the field.
