Q: What is your favorite golf course you’ve ever played?

CMM: I would have to go with Blue Ash Golf Course. The elevation changes make it a lot of fun and pretty challenging. You really have to focus to play well there.

Q: When did you start playing golf and what got you interested in the game?

CMM: I started playing golf at the beginning of Covid and that summer. Once we were sent home from school, I had to complete a gym credit and basically at that point, golf was one of the few things we could do. In the beginning I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it because I couldn’t really hit the ball. After the first season of just playing with my dad, I got used to hitting the ball a little better. Things changed last season when I met Kurt and played for his PGA Jr League team over the summer. We went undefeated, and I got to meet a bunch of kids that made the game fun. And now I love playing golf, this spring, summer and fall I played non-stop and have plans to work throughout the winter to be better next season.

Q: Do you work with a golf coach?

CMM: Yes, I work with two different PGA members. Connor Hockett from Miami Shores Golf Course and Kurt Heintz from Reid Park Golf Course. They have both helped my game a lot!

Q: If you had to play an entire round of golf with only one club, what club would you choose?

CMM: I would use my 7 iron because it was my favorite club during the season. I am able to hit many different shots with the 7. I could tee off, hit a second shot from the fairway, bump and run and have an attempt at putting once we make it on the green.

Q: If you could play golf with anyone, who would be your dream foursome and where would you play?

CMM: I would love to play a round of golf with Tiger Woods, Nelly Korda, and Kevin Kisner. I think that would be a really fun group of people to play with. If we could play anywhere in the world, I would go with Augusta National, I don’t think it gets any better than that as far as courses go.

Q: What was the highlight of your summer golf experience with the SOPGA?

CMM: Winning the Player of the Year for the Junior Series was a really cool accomplishment. I worked really hard on my game with Connor and Kurt all season and to have it all come together to win that award was a lot of fun. I cannot wait for next season!

Q: What do you like to do outside of golf?

CMM: Outside of golf I like to perform in the marching band for the high school and play softball. I’ve grown up traveling which I really like doing as well, this summer I went to Italy with my family which was awesome.
