FAIRBORN, OH (August 3, 2022) – Junior golfers Grant Woodruff and Ellie Lim have earned Player of the Year honors in their respective divisions on the Southern Ohio PGA Junior Golf Player’s Tour.

The Southern Ohio PGA Junior Golf Player’s Tour is made up of 14 events hosted at various golf courses around Central and Southern Ohio. Players receive a number of points for each Top-10 finish they earn on the schedule with the maximum number of points available at the end of the season being 1,680. 

Grant Woodruff of Urbana, Ohio captured the Player’s Tour Boy’s Player of the Year honor with 985 points earned at 12 events on the Player’s Tour schedule. His nine Top-10 finishes were highlighted by wins at the Urbana Junior Open and Springboro Shootout. Throughout the season Woodruff carded 15 rounds of golf with scores in the 70’s, including his lowest score of two-under-par 70 at the Darby Creek Junior Open where he claimed second place. Woodruff will continue his junior golf career this fall as a junior on the Graham High School Boys Golf team.  

“It took a lot of hard work and dedication to the game of golf and I’m really proud of myself,” noted Woodruff when asked how it felt to achieve the honor. “Sometimes you put a bad round together but you keep going, and that’s what I did all year.”

Ellie Lim of Dublin, Ohio captured the Player’s Tour Girl’s Player of the Year honor with 1,420 points earned at seven events on the Player’s Tour schedule. Lim posted consistently impressive scores this season. carding 10 (of her 11) rounds with scores in the 70’s. She claimed three wins this season at the Urbana Junior Open, Granville Junior Classic and Springboro Shootout. Lim works to improve her game with Columbus-based PGA Professional JR Ables and she will continue her junior golf career this fall as a senior on the Dublin Coffman High School Girls Golf team.  

“It feels really good,” said Lim about how it feels to achieve the season-long title. “I put a lot of hard work into my game this year. The difference between my scores from this year and last year is so much better and I’m really proud of that.”
