MIAMISBURG, OH (July 19, 2022) – Eddie Staudt and Morgan Rodgers claimed their respective divisions on the Player’s Tour at the Pipestone Junior Classic held July 18-19 at Pipestone Golf Course. 

Players and spectators were in for an exciting event this week at the Player’s Tour Pipestone Junior Classic which began Round One after a two-hour rain delay and included two holes-in-one during Round Two! 

 

Morgan Rodgers of Springboro, Ohio defended her Pipestone Junior Classic title in the Girls Division after finishing two-under-par, 142 through the 36-hole tournament. Rodgers’ opened the event three-over-par and bounced back with three birdies to close Round One at even-par. She came out for Round Two determined to defend her 2021 first place spot, which is exactly what she did carding three birdies and one bogey in the final round. Rodgers beat her 2021 Pipestone Junior Classic score by four strokes this year. 

Lauren Miller of Dayton, OH earned the top place in the Girls 13-15 Division carding rounds of 87-75 to finish 18-over-par. Lilly Middleton of Wilmington, OH earned the Girls Division low 18-hole round of the tournament carding five-under-par, 67 during Round One.

Eddie Staudt of Centerville, OH put together two steady rounds of one-over-par, 73 to finish the tournament two-over-par, 146 through 36 holes. Staudt opened the event with a bogey on his second hole but immediately bounced back with a birdie on the next hole. The pattern continued where he answered almost every bogey with a birdie throughout the event. Staudt tied at the top of the leaderboard after 36 holes but ultimately won the scorecard playoff for the title. 

Andy Steed of Wilmington, OH earned the top place in the Boys 13-15 Division carding rounds of 73-75 to finish four-over-par. Arvind Rajagopalan of Dublin, OH earned the Boys Division low 18-hole round of the tournament carding three-under-par, 69 during Round One. 

Round Two of the 2022 Pipestone Junior Classic was highlighted by not one, but two aces made in the Boy’s Division! Trey Homan of New Madison, Ohio used a 7-iron from 154 yards on Pipestone Golf Course’s Hole #17 to make his first hole-in-one. A few groups behind Homan, Ian Rinehart of Xenia, Ohio used an 8-iron from 189 yards on Hole #13 to make his first hole-in-one.
